Hello!

My name is Lynna & this is my pup, Puck. Thanks for stopping by on this crazy journey we’re on together!

How was Woofboard created?

I was funemployed during the pandemic and wondering what I wanted to do with my life when I noticed barkuterie boards popping up on social media and thought, “Wow, what a brilliant idea!” Plus, everyone and their mom got a quarantine dog, so I knew it would be a great niche. So, I picked up one of my charcuterie boards, some of Puck’s treats, and my camera and the rest is history! I never could’ve imagined what Woofboard would become to me - the perfect creative outlet, a chance to meet so many people & pups, and to be part of an amazing small business community!

Aside from meeting the cutest pups, I’m also excited to introduce a whole new world of treats to fellow dog parents! I only use natural, minimal-ingredient, & preservative-free goodies on my boards.

Why?

Puck went through a period where he was getting blisters & hives all over his body. The vet said it was allergies and originally offered some ointment and medication. Nothing worked and it continued for months. I felt like the worst dog mom ever!! Finally, I decided to get an allergy panel done to figure out exactly what Puck was allergic to. Turns out he’s allergic to a crap ton of things - flaxseed, beef liver, venison, kangaroo - the list goes on - none of which were normally in Puck’s diet. I immediately changed his diet to a more natural one, subscribed to Farmer’s Dog for his meals, and started discovering companies that sold single ingredient treats. I started paying attention to the ingredients of all the treats I gave Puck. Now, I only buy treats where I can read and understand every. single. ingredient. With these changes, almost instantly, Puck’s allergies went away and he hasn’t had a single blister since. I’m definitely no nutritionist & still learning as I go, but I want to show other dog parents that there is more to life than what you see on the store shelves - aka milkbones! I love that I get to introduce new types of treats and use Woofboard as a platform for dog parents to sample new treats without fully committing to an entire bag. Nothing’s worse than bringing home a new bag of treats only for your dog to turn their head away and waste your hard-earned money. Not only that, but I get to support fellow small businesses in return!

In September 2022, my dream of owning a storefront came true! We now have a home for our business in Downtown San Jose by San Pedro Square! We are so grateful to SJMade for making this happen! We carry a variety of dog products from treats to toys to accessories + more! I’m so proud to say that we house products from over 50 small businesses in our shop & continue to grow our brand list. If you’re ever in the SF Bay Area, stop by and check out our little shop!
